"I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, who is very dear to Lord Kṛṣṇa, having taken shelter at His lotus feet. O spiritual master, servant of Sarasvatī Gosvāmī. you are kindly preaching the message of Lord Caitanya Deva and delivering the Western countries, which are filled with impersonalism and voidism."

Dear Gurudeva,

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

All glories to you on this auspicious day of your vyasapuja.

I remember very fondly the day when I saw you first time in the courtyard of ISKCON Chowpatty. After the Sunday SB Class, I (F.E. Stud.) was standing in front of Matchless Gifts and suddenly you came out of kitchen walking towards the Laxmi Narayan Temple. And seeing everyone bowing down and offering obeisances, I also bowed down and some how my head touched your lotus feet and you walked forward. That time I couldn't realize what it meant to have received the dust of a great Sannyasi, whose footsteps, I would be following like million other devotees for the rest of my life.

Gurudeva, I always remembered one point which you brought out in the 2011 Vyasa Puja Celebration saying, "No matter whether we are Hindus, Mouslims, Christians, or whether we have done something great in our life or not, or whether we are rich or poor, or whether we are going through suffering or happiness and what so ever, if we are sincere, Krsna will always help us." I always remember these words, "If we are sincere, Krsna will always help us" in all those difficulties which I have gone through and am constantly facing due to my lack of seriousness in KC and deep rooted lusty desires, your words provide me unlimited hope that Krsna who is there in everyone's heart as Parmatma will surely respond if I execute my duties and services given to me in the mood of humble servant as stated by LCM in your most favorite verse from His Siksastakam prayers:

tṛṇād api sunīcena taror api sahiṣṇunā

    amāninā mānadena kīrtanīyaḥ sadā hariḥ

"One should chant the holy name of the Lord in a humble state of mind, thinking oneself lower than the straw in the street; one should be more tolerant than a tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige, and should be ready to offer all respect to others. In such a state of mind one can chant the holy name of the Lord constantly".

When I read your first book The Journey Home, and now after 4 years, when I hear the audio recordings of TJH, I remember that Srila Prabhupada, our founder Acharya, left the HQ of devotion - Sri Vrndavana Dham and he crossed the Atlantic ocean, underwent 2 heart-attacks and finally after a 38 days voyage, he arrived at the HQ of distraction - NY in search of serious, sincere and dedicated disciples. Gurudeva, you left all the material comforts of Western land, and traveled all the way through Middle East, Europe all the way to India with just few bucks in search of Bonafide Guru to answer the longing of your heart for the love of Godhead. You have practically demonstrated by your own example that

                                             yasya deve parā bhaktir
                                             yathā deve tathā gurau
                                            tasyaite kathitā hy arthāḥ
                                             prakāśante mahātmanaḥ

"One who has unflinching devotion for the Supreme Lord and is directed by the spiritual master, in whom he has similar unflinching faith, can see the Supreme Personality of Godhead by revelation."

Guru Maharaja, I have already decided to dedicate my life in fulfilling your instructions given to all of us through your nectarine lectures so that I can assist in the preaching mission of Srila Prabhupada's Hare Krsna Movement, through Book Distribution and other preaching activities under the guidance of your capable disciples especially Gauranga Pr, Radheshyam Pr, my Counselor Rasapati Pr and all other those who have willfully dedicated their life in pleasing you and Krsna. By serving all these devotees throughout my life, I hope someday I will be able to please Krsna through you as we sing daily in our Gurv-aṣṭaka:

yasya prasādād bhagavat-prasādo

yasyāprasādān na gatiḥ kuto ‘pi

dhyāyan stuvaṁs tasya yaśas tri-sandhyaṁ

vande guroḥ śrī-caraṇāravindam

"By your mercy I will receive the benediction of Kṛṣṇa. Without your grace I cannot make any advancement. Therefore, I will always try to remember and praise your glories in my heart and offer my respectful obeisances unto your lotus feet at least thrice a day, oh my spiritual master."

Thank you Guru Maharaja for giving me an opportunity to remember and glorify you on your most holy appearance day and again I seek your blessings so that I should be able to perform all my services, without being puffed up, in the mood of servant of the servant, that someday, in some lifetime, Krsna should recognize and accept me as one of His insignificant servant by your causeless mercy.

Your Aspiring Disciple,

Kaushik
