This incidence happened few years ago, during Initiation Ceremony at Shri Shri Radha Kunja Bihari Temple, Pune.

While taking the vow before initiation, out of excitement, one devotee aspiring and perspiring for initiation uttered "No Eat Meeting!" in place of "No Meet Eating!" It was inadvertent slip of tongue and though it created a funny situation, keeping in mind the seriousness of the occasion, nobody laughed.

However, while handing over the Japa Beads to that particular devotee, HH Radhanath Maharaj said, "So, No Eat Meeting!" Now the entire congregation burst into laughter.

Once Maharaj loving said to one of his fortunate servants: There are 4 types of miseries : Adiyatmik, adibhotik, adidevik (these 3 we have heard according to scriptures) but the 4th one is Adidasik ( misery due to the servant ).... :)

In one of the initiation lectures recently on Dec 7th. One of the devotees was announcing "Today is very auspicious day because Maharaj appeared on this day". Maharaj started telling "This was the day of infamy", "Dec 7th was the day when Japanese bombed pearl harbor, It was the day when America declared war on Germany and war on Japan. So it is not very auspicious day!!"
The devotee announced "Then, We will declare war on Maya on this occasion!!"

This year in the Hampi Udupi Kartik yatra, Maharaj was lecturing in Malayavantha Raghunath temple. Maharaj was talking about eagerness to hear Krsna Katha, and then all of a sudden a cow just ran threw the crowd of 4500 devotees and everyone got up. then Maharaj laughing said "eager cow".

The next day Maharaj was lecturing at the place of Shabris cave. Maharaj was saying that around Ravanas city of Lanaka their was a river filled with gaint man eating crocodiles. Then suddenly a small group of devotees stood up and made a small comotion. Maharaj said "what now". One Prabhu creid out Maharaj theirs a lizard. Maharaj "a small lizard". Everyone started laughing so much.

On the 1st day lecture of the Vrindavan Yatra of 2013, Maharaja said he would tell the story of building up the Krishna Balarama Temple. Then he asked the audience whether they know the story. He asked the audience those who know the story to raise their hands. But as everybody was eager to hear the story from Maharaja, nobody raised their hands. Then Maharaja said 'I also don't know the story.....' and then everybody laughed.

In the recent sunday feast lecture, Maharaj was explaining how at the beginning of Kurukshetra war, Lord Krishna brought Arjuna's Chariott in between the two armies and said "See who all has assembled here today." After a pause, Maharaj continues that whenever Maharaj comes to RadhaGopinath temple and sit to start a lecture and look out at all of audience, he remembers these words of Krishna "See who all has assembled here today....!" :) There was a big laughter following this.....! Then Maharaj continues........."But you are all on same side...........!" This follows another laughter.... LOL.

During the Mayapur Yatra of 2003-2004, we visited Ekacakra on New Year's Eve. We were taking our lunch prasadam [after dark!] when suddenly we heard Maharaj's voice over the loudspeaker, saying "What better place to celebrate New Year's Eve than the home of the Supreme Drunkard?!"

On the 25th year celebrations of Sri Sri Radhagopinath Temple, Maharaj was sharing his memories related to the initial period of the temple establishment. In that he was explaining how other devotees (during that time) used to isolate Maharaj because of his "weird" way of pronouncing the Holy name. Further Maharaj also spoke about the atrocities that the innumerable "rats" used to create inside the temple.. Speaking of which Maharaj said " the company of rats was more peaceful and acceptable, than , those devotees!!   There was a huge laughter and applause in the temple! Hare Krishna!

This happened to my husband Sacitanuja Das during his initiation ceremony in 2004. In 2002 he has acted in Haridas Thakur Drama as the prostitute who tries to lure Haridas Thakur...Maharaj was so happy with the performance that during his initiation after he took his vows Maharaj looked at him & said ' you are the one who had acted as the prostitute right?' To which my husband said Yes shyly. Then Guru Maharaj indicated to HG RadhaKund Prabhu and Radhakund Prabhu understanding Maharajs heart made my husband wear harinam chaddar as a 'saree palloo' around his head. He then said to him....' Do you want mataji name or prabhuji name' He then said your name will be 'Sacitanuja Das'....After announcing his name he teasingly looked at him and said ' dont worry it is not Sacimatas name it is Sacimatas sons name' to which all the devotees were roaring in laughter.....and my husband in bliss at receiving such a humorous mercy on his initiation day....Hare Krishna Guru Maharaj ki jay

In one of the question and answer sessions, some one asked Maharaj about any flaw in preaching mechanically like a parrot with no feeling. Maharaj was narrating a story of a devotee's parrot who was taught to repeat Maha Mantra. Maharaj said, "well, parrots do not commit the ten offences to the Holy names.......!" Everyone burst in laughter.

FROM Acharya Ratna Das (Vice President ISKCON Kolkatta)

Back in my room, I pulled my socks up for the next day’s performance. First, I studied every route from ISKCON Temple to ISKCON House, and then, the traffic flow on each. I zeroed in on the best route. What about the driver? Radha Sharan was the best choice. A Kolkata man who commuted the chosen route routinely, Radha Sharan couldn’t miss directions there—perhaps even when blindfolded. But if misfortune personified were to reappear, Radha Sharan was no exception. Therefore, for added safety, I called up a few more acquaintances, and requested them to be in their vehicles at strategic points along the chosen route—next morning at 9:00 A.M.

That night, I dreamt driving though that route a dozen times, rehearsing.

Next morning at 9:00 A.M., as Radhanath Swami got into the front seat of Radha Sharan’s car, he declared, “Listen Acharya Ratna. This time if you lose the way, you won’t see the light of another day.” Then he turned to Radha Sharan who sat behind the wheels, “Understand, Acharya Ratna’s life is in your hands!” The car lunged ahead, to determine my destiny.

Everything worked well, and we reached ISKCON House well before time. Before getting out of the car, Radhanath Swami spelled his verdict to Radha Sharan, “You have saved Acharya Ratna’s life.” His naughty smile charming my heart, he rubbed my head and spoke a blessing, “May you see the light of millions of days…” I thought, “Through the entire drama, I now feel drawn to you, a million times closer.”

After the discourse, as we sat together, Radhanath Swami shared pearls of management wisdom. “Acarya Ratna, in management, never ever assume anything. That is the first principle of management. If you at all want to assume anything, assume that everything is going to go wrong, unless properly planned, organized, supervised and guided.”

FROM Acharya Ratna Das (Vice President ISKCON Kolkatta)

“Where do we go next?” asked the chauffeur, as he slowed down the vehicle. I gazed out through the window, and an eerie sensation seized me. Nothing looked familiar. Maybe, we were lost! I had recently arrived in Kolkata after being appointed as Vice President of ISKCON there, and knew only few sections of the city.

On this drive, Radhanath Swami and his secretary were my co-passengers. I was escorting Radhanath Swami from the ISKCON Temple, where he stayed during his Kolkata visit, to ISKCON House, Gurusoday Road, where he was scheduled to discourse. Though the distance was only two Kilometers, we drove on a chauffeur-driven car. It was a well-wisher’s, who had persisted that we use it. Radhanath Swami occupied the front seat, while Vikram and I occupied the rear. At the beginning of the ride, I had announced, “Gurusoday Road,” to which the chauffeur nodded. But once we had entered the crawling traffic, I got absorbed in a conversation with Vikram, and thus was oblivious to the new route taken.

Now, this neighborhood we had stumbled into, the chauffeur claimed, was Gurusoday road. But where is ISKCON House? My heart pounded. We were getting late for the discourse. Radhanath Swami turned around, “Better we take a taxi from here. Taxi drivers know all routes.” Straining a confident smile, I called up a person at ISKCON House instead, for directions. My one hand pressed the phone to my ear, my other hand fingered directions, and the car limped ahead. Meanwhile, time raced ahead, the finish point remained invisible. Radhanath Swami turned around, again to meet my strained smile. This time, however, my smile evaporated under his annoyed glower, leaving behind a strain on my face. Saying nothing to me, he stopped the car, stepped out into the pedestrian traffic, and waved for a taxi—all in a jiffy. I too jumped out, and so did Vikram. Finding a taxi, the three of us clambered aboard, and were in ISKCON House in minutes. The discourse began half hour late, at 9:30 A.M.

After the discourse, Radhanath Swami told me in private, “We were disrespectful in making so many people wait.”

“I had assumed that the driver knew the way,” I retorted. He shook his head, indicating the excuse wasn’t good enough. My heart sank. I had displeased someone whom I yearned to please. But yes! I have another chance tomorrow. Radhanath Swami was scheduled to again discourse in the same place the next day. .................Continued

In a lecture in 2012, maharaj started telling that the 1st marriage in Krishna consciousness of janaki(mataji) and Mukunda (maharaj) and he just started describing the preparation and there was some loud noise from behind as if something fell, maharaj said - Looks like some brahmachari doesn't want to hear :) Everyone started laughing... Then maharaj said but "I don't hold it against them because I used to be like that"...
Then as he continued telling back about the marriage and described about preparation, after few mins another similar noise and then maharaj said again someone doesn't want to hear, "We have about 150 brhamachari's..." Everybody kept laughing. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to Srila Gurudev...
